Kyushu Electric Power Named to the Dow Jones Best-in-Class Asia Pacific Index for the Second Consecutive Year - Selected as the Only Electric Power Company in Japan for Two Consecutive Years -
We are pleased to announce that the Company has been selected for the second consecutive year as a constituent of the Dow Jones Best-in-Class Asia Pacific Index (DJBIC Asia Pacific), one of the world’s leading ESG investment indices
The Dow Jones Best-in-Class Indices (DJBIC), provided by S&P Dow Jones Indices, evaluate the sustainability performance of major companies worldwide based on three dimensions—Governance & Economic, Environmental, and Social—and select companies that demonstrate outstanding overall performance.
The DJBIC Asia Pacific covers approximately 600 leading companies in the Asia-Pacific region. In the latest selection, 162 companies were selected as constituents of the index, including 76 Japanese companies. Among Japanese electric power companies, Kyushu Electric Power was once again the only company selected.
In this year’s assessment, the Company received particularly high evaluations in environmental and social areas, including its climate strategy and human capital initiatives.
In addition to its selection for the DJBIC Asia Pacific, Kyushu Electric Power has also been included in four of the six ESG indices adopted by Japan’s Government Pension Investment Fund (GPIF), such as the FTSE Blossom Japan Sector Relative Index and the MSCI Japan ESG Select Leaders Index.
